Fear of the Day: kleenex

I should probably call it “facial tissue” to avoid the fear of being sued, but it will always be kleenex to me. Typically I’m a big fan of it. I keep it on hand for all those mom uses, and it usually comes through in a pinch. Though lately it seems to not be as sturdy as it used to be.
My son has allergies, and to top it off he’s not the most sanitary of my children. So we’re always dealing with the nose issues. I consider it a success if I get him to use a kleenex instead of his sleeve (or hand). But sometimes I wonder why I bother. It seems to go right through the tissue.
I’m concerned that I’ve developed a false sense of security being prepared with tissue when really it’s all going to end up on his hand anyway. And then he’ll want to touch me. Lord only knows what germs he has an immunity to, and I’m sure they all just live happily on his surface. But I don’t have this immunity. They will get on me and then I’ll be the one in the hospital because my skin is dissolving off. All because the cheap idiots who make kleenex thought we wouldn’t notice they were cutting down on the quality.
I think we should all switch back to using those nasal aspirators like babies. And I’m also getting a H1N1 shot just in case. You can never be too safe.
