I read somewhere that electrical currents seem louder to females, so I guess this confirms my status as a woman (though some may beg to differ). That incessant sound is all I hear. The TV and satellite receiver are the worst. Usually I unplug something if it really bothers me, but the cords for the TV and receiver are behind an armoire. As I am not a man (as previously noted), I cannot easily move the furniture and muzzle the sound.
I feel like locusts are living in my room. They won’t shut up. I think I’m starting to hear other things as well. Like last night I could have sworn a movie was playing on the TV. I heard actors speaking lines and everything. It was freaking Shakespeare in there. I actually got up from bed and went to check it out. But everything was turned off. I could still hear the humming though.
If I don’t figure out a way to make this stop, I’m afraid I’ll go crazy. I’m going to become obsessed with it. Even when I’m not around electrical appliances, I think I still hear it. I thought about getting earplugs, but I’m worried about the humming being in my head. I don’t want to trap it in there. I think the real solution is to go to some deserted island with nothing but the beach and some margaritas. That should shut the noises up. You can never be too safe.
