Fear of the Day: glass

Unbeknownst to me, someone who is oh-so-helpful with cleaning up left out one of my wine glasses. I did not see it while I was unloading the groceries and accidentally knocked it over. I figured it out when I heard the glass shatter. Nice surprise. And while I was upset about having to throw out one of my treasured pieces, what I’m most afraid of are the little invisible shards that remain. What was once a transport vehicle for goodness is now a transport vehicle for cutting up my insides.
Of course this happened on the day I plan to start my Christmas baking. And of course this happened on the very counter on which I planned to roll out my dough. Little slivers of glass and cookies probably don’t mix well.
I’m planning on passing out my creations to some co-workers, neighbors, teachers, etc. I doubt it will go over well when everyone ends up in the hospital with unexplained bleeding. And all the bloody trails will lead to me. I don’t want to spend Christmas in the lock-up. I suppose I’ll have to test the cookies on my own. If I don’t die, I’ll go ahead and distribute across the normal channels. Or I could just reserve the first batch for some very deserving individuals who will go unnamed at this time. They can truly never be too safe.
